Army of the Week: Elites

KLONDIKE, CP Army Media Headquarters – Today we bring to you the first edition of ‘Army of the Week’ on the CPAM Website. The Army of the Week tradition traces back to the early stages of Club Penguin Armies, where all Armies would face off with one another in order to claim the prestigious title of “Army of the Week”. Our edition of ‘Army of the Week’ will spotlight an army that either made a big jump in the top ten or is a new army that started off big. Our first Army of the Week is the Elites!

Elites are an army imbued with a deep history. The genesis of the Elites army traces back to 2008, when they were created by 77 Ninja 77 on the 23rd of May 2008.

One of the earliest Elites event

Ninja brought the army to great power, rivaling even ACP at one point. Eventually, he retired and a stream of leaders followed. As time passed, the Elites could not sustain themselves the same way anymore, and the 1st Generation finally gave in and died. Many months later, Lordcody56 made the 2nd Generation. Unfortunately, it was not very successful. Next, Godplaya123 and Supperz1 created the 3rd generation. Over the summer of 2010, the 3rd generation Elites have been acknowledged as a disappearing army. Due to troubles with the leadership, the inevitable downfall of this once great army came swiftly.

It rocked Club Penguin armies as it went up the Top 10, reaching Major sizes in just four to five months without merging. The 3rd generation went to garner massive sizes until it took its last breath in August. Then Flames181, also unsuccessfully, made the 4th generation. The 5th generation, created by Trickster and Npeppersn, followed shortly after. It was again very unsuccessful, as it died in the first week of its creation.

About a year or two passed by without the Elites, until two penguins named 57to and Khimo came along, reviving the Elites once again and creating the 6th generation. This was probably one of the more successful generations, lasting approximately half a year and reaching up to 2nd place on the CPAC Top 10 List.

Elites revived under Khimo

The Elites were revived several times thereafter under Step Up 646, Momo941 and Peep128. However none of the newly revived generations could reduplicate the former successes of the Elites. So how is it that we see this familiar face once again and this time we see them crowned as the Army of the Week?

This new generation of Elites was revived by LuciferStar, Simmonds2000 and Mythic on the 6th of May 2020. Working alongside the new Leadership which now comprised of LuciferStar, Simmonds2000 and Mythic, Elites have hit the ground running. Hosting its first official event on the 8th of May 2020, the Elites managed to max 25 on their very first event just two days after their revival.

Elites first official event following their revival

Following their promising start in its first week, the Elites ranked first on the S/M Army Universal Top Twenty. Running hot on their previous successes the Elites continued to grow and began seeing sizes of 45 in its events within just a week of its revival. Reaching sizes of 45, 43 and 32, the Elites have now found themselves in the big Leagues following their recent jump in the Universal Top Twenty. From being ranked in the S/M Army Universal Top Twenty, the Elites have moved up in rankings to now rank in the Top Ten of the Major Armies Universal Top Twenty.

Elites find themselves in the Top Ten

So how did they manage it? Lets hear what their Leader, Simmonds2000 has to say.

First off, congratulations on making it to the Top Ten in just ten days, did you expect the army to grow so quickly in such a short period of time?

Simmonds: Thank you. In all honesty, I did not expect us to grow this quickly. To get to the top ten in such a short amount of time was unthinkable. On the other hand, I had a lot of faith in working alongside Luciferstar and Mythic. It just goes to show how much chemistry we have in the Elites.

Thats good to hear, what would you say would be the secret behind your recent successes?

Simmonds: Just the pure dedication and hard work from every single troop in the army. It’s not just the leaders that make it happen, it’s the troops as well. We have so many outstanding individuals in the army that work hard everyday, recruiting new troops. The secret is just the motivation that we all have.

Great! Now considering how recruiting is now going to become a problem for all armies, how would you say the Elites would cope through this dilemma?

Simmonds: We will look to other sources to recruit. There are still some private servers remaining such as Penguin Saloon and Club Penguin Rewritten. In addition to this, we can recruit from discord and other games as well. Where there is a problem, there is always a solution. This community is known for surviving big dilemmas, so I believe we can cope through this one too.

And what would you say would be your goals in the future? What does the future hold for the Elites?

Simmonds: One of my major goals is for us to become a dominant force in the community. Since I started way back in 2011, my goal was always to create or revive an army and lead them into dominant territory. So this will be our major goal, to become a major force to be reckoned with. If we keep up our momentum and motivation, I think the future looks bright.

I wish you luck in your future endeavours! Is there anything else you’d like to say to the community?

Simmonds: Thank you. Always follow your dreams and work hard towards them, because eventually they will become reality.

At the end interview, I think it’s clear to all what the Elites have in store for the Community. Led by an ambitious yet down to earth Leader, its evident that the Elites aim to become a dominant force in the forthcoming days. And yet we must also ask ourselves this: How long can they keep this us? Knowing that recruiting has now become a key challenge for all armies, is this the maximum potential that Elites had in store?

Will we see more action from the Elites in the future? Or will it just be a short hurrah? Let us know what YOU think in the comments below!
